Clergy registration to perform marriages in the City of New York

The City of New York requires ordained clergy to be registered before performing marriages in the city of New York.  If you are granted a License to Officiate you will also receive a "Marriage Officiant Registration" form from the Bishop's Office which will facilitate this registration process.

You will need to go to City Hall in person to register.  To register, you must take the "Marriage Officiant Registration" form, proper identification (passport, valid driver's license, etc.) to:

One Center Street 2nd Floor
New York, NY 10007
(212) 669-8095

In addition you will need to have a $15.00 money order in hand to cover the registration fee.  The City will not accept cash or a check, it has to be  a money order.  There is a money order/check cashing company at 79 Chambers Street, near the license registration building.
