November 17, 2018 @ 4:30 pm

Co-sponsored by the Anti-Human Trafficking Taskforce of the Diocese of New York.

Bernadette Ellorin, Executive Director of the Mission to End Modern Slavery (MEMS) will discuss how labor traffickers utilize provisions of the US J1 visa law to exploit their victims on the U.S.  MEMS is an organization that empowers victims of human trafficking and mobilizes communities to end modern-day forms of slavery and it envisions survivor-led movements working in community towards social and economic justice.

Dinner will be served following the presentation.

EAST (Episcopal Asian Supper Table) will gather at St. James’ Church, 865 Madison Ave, gathering to provide a safe space for participants to share their challenges with identity and how these challenges have shaped their spiritual lives.
